Hey everyone – I’m looking for a handful of volunteers who might be willing to help out by acting as beta readers for my new book.

With any luck you won't be quite this bored.

With any luck you won’t be quite this bored.

If you’re not familiar with it, a beta readers is (generally) a non-professional who reads over a work prior to publishing and offers their feedback – thoughts, impressions and commentary – to the author.

Like most of my other books, this one will be an independently published project. What I am especially looking for this time around is someone to give me feedback on diction, grammar, spelling … the nitty gritty of writing, as opposed to content improvement (though I’d appreciate a little bit of that, too).

In other words, readers with a fairly good grasp of the English language.

I don’t want to reveal too much of what the book is about at this time, but can say that it has Iceland as its focus (of course). It is not a very long book – around 20,000 words (about the same length as the first Little Book of the Icelanders if that tells you anything).

What I can offer you in return is my deep and sincere gratitude, as well as a copy of the book itself and a special mention on the Acknowledgements page (naturally).

If you think you have the time and interest (ideally I would have your comments back within the next couple of weeks), I’d love to hear from you.
