But I’m not averse to self-promotion. This little Writers Digest notice caught my eye today and if anybody feels The Iceland Weather Report qualifies, feel free to drop them a line!
BID FOR BLOGGERS
We’re looking for a few good blogs to highlight in our upcoming WD special publication, Personal Writing. If you keep an online journal, or blog—or if you know of a writer’s blog that’s particularly well-written—send us an e-mail. It may appear in an upcoming issue of Personal Writing. Please send an e-mail nomination, along with a brief explanation of why you think this blog is exceptional, with “blog” in the subject line to: writersdig@fwpubs.com
AND WHILE I’M ON THE SUBJECT…
There’s this: the 2005 bloggie awards. It’s a long shot, as it goes by the *number* of nominations (where’s the fairness in that?), but I’ve submitted myself to the Best European Weblog (excludes UK and Ireland), Best Writing and Best New categories. So if y’all want to do the same, g’right ahead and consider yourselves humbly thanked!!
Consider yourself nominated!
Louise
THANK YOU, Louise! As for Kief – maybe he only moons people in certain settings, like bars, after having imbibed approximately a bottle of whiskey. And Whale Rider – yes indeed, I saw it and LOVED it. One NZ movie I didn’t see, though, was Once Were Warriors – I know it’s supposed to be excellent but I just couldn’t bring myself to watch it.
You are shameless! 🙂
‘Once were Warriors’ is an excellent film, but one of the most unrelentingly dark, bleak and difficult films I’ve ever seen….
Colin
Precisely why I couldn’t bear to see it!
OWW…definitely not a feel good movie but sadly a very true account of Maori life at that time.
