Dreadful news yesterday: a horrific car accident in east Iceland, a private vehicle in collision with a transport truck. Two passengers dead at the scene, the driver sustained life-threatening injuries. Only today did we discover that the driver is one of EPI’s colleagues. She’s in critical condition, underwent operations last night and again today. Doctors at the hospital claim that it’s impossible to say anything about her chances at this point.
The couple that died were friends of hers; Brits, who were on a visit to Iceland.
An investigation into the accident indicates that a trailer pulled by the truck turned over and landed on the car, crushing it.
Makes you think about fate and such. About the coincidence: being in exactly that spot at exactly that time, just when that happens.
But mainly it’s just too tragic for words.
